About Solmax International Inc. |
| |
The polyethylene (PE) liner manufactured by Solmax International is of excellent quality because it is manufactured as per international standards as demonstrated by certifications with ASQUAL in France, ITB in Poland and GOST in Russia. Solmax is a member of GRI and therefore also produces the liner as per GRI GM13 and GRI GM17 for North America, Western Europe, and Africa. Also, the polyvinyl chloride liner assembled by Solmax International is manufactured as per international standards like PGI 1104 and ASTM D7176. Solmax is a member of the PGI. Solmax ensure an incomparable and unique Quality Control by submitting its factory seams to infra-red thermography. |

Polyethylene Geomembrane-Solmax 400 & 800 Series |
| |
Polyethylene is a long-chain hydrocarbon thermoplastic material obtained through the polymerization of ethylene. Polyethylene geomembranes were developed exclusively to reduce the hydraulic conductivity of earthworks and are part of one of the most sophisticated and effective impervious systems known to date. They are also very reliable in exposed environments due to their excellent resistance to brittleness in low temperatures and superior protection against UV degradation. Manufactured in wide rolls, polyethylene liners come in varying thicknesses ranging from 20 to 120 mil (0.5 to 3.0 mm) to meet engineering design requirements. |
|
HDPE (high-density polyethylene) - SOLMAX 400 SERIES |
| |
High-density polyethylene is the most chemically resistant member of the polyethylene family on account of its dense configuration (>0.94 g/cm3). It is extensively used for containment structures. Although less flexible than its LLDPE counterpart, it still offers great elongation properties allowing up to 12% deformation at its yield point. |
|
LLDPE (linear low-density polyethylene) - SOLMAX 800 SERIES |
| |
As its name implies, linear low-density polyethylene is a lower-density polymer (<0.939 g/cm3) yielding increased material flexibility. LLDPE is mainly used where long-term large settlements are anticipated such as landfill covers. |
|
PVC (Polyvinylchloride) -Solmax 200 Series |
| |
Polyvinyl chloride is a thermoplastic material manufactured from a mixture of vinyl compounds, plasticizers and stabilizers. PVC geomembranes have unique mechanical properties such as a high degree of flexibility, an excellent elongation percentage, a reduced expansion coefficient and considerable puncture resistance. Although polyvinyl chloride stiffens significantly as temperatures drop, special formulations have been developed that allow flexing below 15 °F (-10 °C). PVC can also be treated and certified NSF61 to hold potable water suitable for human consumption. Using a state-of-the-art dielectric process and infrared technology, Solmax manufactures pre-assembled panels capable of covering surface areas of up to 4,500 m² per panel. Thicknesses range from 0.25 mm to 1.5 mm. Factory seams are the work of experienced technicians operating in a controlled environment free of contaminants. |
Fish grade PVC- Products codes: SOLMAX 215FG, 220FG, 235FG |
| |
When aquatic life is desired for applications such as architectural and horticultural ponds, specially formulated fish grade polyvinyl chloride liners are also available. |
Potable grade PVC-Products codes: SOLMAX 220PG, 230PG, 260PG |
| |
PVC also comes in a potable grade, enabling its use for potable water containment as per National Sanitation Foundation Standard 61, “Drinking Water System Components.” Water stored in contact with potable grade PVC is accordingly safe for human consumption. |
Solmax C-Series, AKS Technology -Concrete Protection Liner |
| |
Solmax is a distributor in the Americas for Anchor Lining Systems, a specialist manufacturer of high-performance Concrete Protection Liner (CPL) materials.
Anchor Knob Sheet (AKS) is a robust state-of-the-art liner designed to protect concrete structures in chemically aggressive environments. This cast-in concrete protection liner is made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), polypropylene (PP) or linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), ensuring unrivalled performance and easy customization to suit a wide range of applications and requirements.
AKS is attached to concrete structures by means of 1,230 anchor knobs per m2 embedded into the concrete. The optimal size, shape and number of knobs ensure extremely high pull-off resistance. The anchors are formed simultaneously as part of the HDPE liner during the extrusion manufacturing process.
The high chemical resistance of HDPE, along with proven welding and testing systems, ensure that sewers, manholes, pump stations and other concrete structures operating in chemically aggressive environments are provided with long-term corrosion protection. Additional benefits, such as increased carrying capacity when used for liquid conveyance due to a low friction coefficient, make AKS a cost-effective solution for a wide variety of lining applications. |
LG XPROgeo Series |
| |
Since 2008, Solmax has been offering the LG XPRO range of specialty geomembranes, which answer the technical requirements in harsh applications. For instance in some industrial and petrochemical sectors, where PE and PVC may not be the appropriate choice. |
| |
Products characteristics: |
-
They are made out of an EIA compound including a Dupont Elvaloy®KEE base.
-
They are reinforced with a polyester scrim for enhanced mechanical properties.
-
Recommended for long exposure to high temperatures, hydrocarbons & UV radiation.
-
Preferred where PE seems not appropriate for reasons of chemical compatibility, thermal degradation or mechanical resistance.
|
| |
